This year Bealtaine is celebrating 30 years of the festival running in Ireland celebrating age and creativity. The library has organized over 30 events that will run in libraries all over the county. Some of the highlights include the Big Bealtaine Book Quiz open to all Meath book clubs, Healthy Ireland events such as Pilates, Chair Yoga and Chair Exercise.
We'll also have some creative events that will allow you to explore your creative side. Try your hand at a pressed flower craft, spend a mindful session doing paint by numbers or attend an art workshop with artist John Carpenter.
Oldcastle Library is host to the next in our author event series with celebrated author Seamus O’Rourke who will be in conversation with Nicola Cassidy.
Music and poetry-based events include concerts by the Buvinda Choir and the Ashbourne Ensemble Choir, along with a concert featuring Soprano Teresa Carley.
And you can take a trip down memory lane with a reminiscence workshop on poems and songs we learned at school. While Trim Library continues the Poetry theme with a Poetry Exhibition which will run throughout the month.
Film buffs will enjoy a film festival running once a week throughout the month. And for those who wish to improve their Irish, they can take part in an Irish conversation workshop for beginners.
