Meath County Council Arts Grants, Awards, Bursaries & Residency Schemes 2025

Funding artists, arts activities and development is a key strategic objective of the Meath County Arts Development Plan 2019 – 2024.

To help maximise the potential for arts provision in the county, Meath County Council Arts Office operates a range of annual bursary and award schemes.

These schemes provide funding opportunities for creative organisations, arts practitioners and groups working with the arts in the county.

Through these schemes the Arts Office aims to support a diverse range of arts activities and practice throughout county Meath. 


 

Annual Arts Grant 2025

This award is intended to support Meath based organisations, individuals or groups in the provision of local arts activities which enhance long-term development and sustainability of the arts in the County.

Maximum amount available through this grant is €1000

This scheme will open in early 2025.
 

Community Arts Award 2025

This award is intended to support community groups and schools in the provision of community arts projects that promote engagement and enhance long-term partnerships with professional artists. This scheme is supported by Creative Ireland.

Maximum amount available through this grant is €2000

This scheme will open in early 2025.

Drama League of Ireland Bursary 2025

This award, open to directors, designers and actors working in theatre and living in County Meath, is intended to fund a week-long residential stay at the Drama League of Ireland Summer School, UL.

This scheme will open in early 2025.

Festival Grant Scheme 2025

This award is intended to support arts festivals taking place in County Meath that show a commitment to quality artistic programming.

Maximum amount available through this grant is €3000

This scheme will open in early 2025.

Professional Artist Development Fund 2025

This award is intended to support Meath based professional arts practitioners in the development of their artistic practice and/or the development of new work. This award is supported by Creative Ireland and The Arts Council.

Maximum amount available through this grant is €1000

This scheme will open in early 2025.

Centre Culturel Irlandais Partnership Residency Award

Open to practising professional artists of all disciplines living in county Meath, this bursary provides a month-long residency at the prestigious Centre Culturel Irlandais, Paris.

Closing date: 5pm, 14th January, 2025

Age & Opportunity Tyrone Guthrie Centre Residency Award 2024

The Age & Opportunity Tyrone Guthrie Centre Residency Award in partnership with Meath County Council Arts Office and Louth County Council Arts Office, aims to support older professional artists to develop their practice, by creating time and space to think and reflect on their work and to bolster their peer network. This will be achieved through a dedicated bursary to attend a residency over the course of a week.

Meath based artists wishing to apply for the Age & Opportunity Tyrone Guthrie Centre Residency Award should contact the Meath Arts Office at artsfunding@meathcoco.ie for guidelines and an application form. Louth based artists should contact arts@louthcoco.ie

Applications should be submitted no later than 5.00pm, Friday, June 7, 2024.

 

IWC National Mentoring Programme 2024

Each year, the Irish Writers Centre sets up over 30 mentorships across the island of Ireland. Writers receive sustained creative and professional mentoring from an acclaimed Irish writer of their choosing. Writers living in all thirty-two counties can apply. Accepted genres/forms: literary fiction, creative non-fiction, children's / young adult fiction and poetry.

This initiative is supported by Meath County Council Arts Office and the Arts Council of Ireland.

Meath Culture Night 2024 Event Grant

Taking place on Friday September 20th 2024, Culture Night is an annual all-island public event that celebrates culture, creativity and the arts.

This award supports artists, venues and local arts/cultural organisations who wish to host a Culture Night event.

Assistance shall be given only in respect of Culture Night events held in County Meath. The event must take place between 4pm and 11pm on Friday 20th September and be free of charge to the public.

PLATFORM 31

A nationwide collaborative initiative between the Association of Local Authority Arts Officers and the Arts Council, this award is intended to support one artist from each local authority in the development of their artistic practice through the provision of funding and a professional network.
