Important Note:

Please note that if you are applying for a replacement Vehicle Registration Certificate / Registration Book and if your address has changed from that recorded on the National Vehicle & Driver File (National Motor Tax system), in addition to completing Form RF134 you will also have to submit form RF111 - Change of Particulars (available at www.motortax.ie), completing Section 1 and signing the Declaration at Section 7. You will also need to submit documentary evidence in your name, supporting your new address, e.g. utility bill dated within the previous 3 months. In addition, you will also need to submit photographic identification such as your driving licence or passport.

If you are applying for a replacement tax disc and if your address has changed from that recorded on the National Vehicle & Driver File (National Motor Tax system), prior to submitting your application for a replacement tax disc, you will firstly need to record your new address by ticking and completing the relevant section (Change of Address) on the reverse side of your Vehicle Registration Certificate (VRC) and return it to the Department of Transport with the correct details.

The Department of Transport will change your details and post a new VRC to you. Upon receipt of your new VRC you can then submit your application for a replacement tax disc.

You can also change address online but only as part of an online motor tax transaction. You cannot change your address by email or over the phone.

Please note that if you are applying for a replacement Vehicle Registration Certificate / Vehicle Licence (tax disc), that was issued via the online motor taxation facility, and where you have not yet received the item in the post, this Licensing Authority is not in a position to process the application for a replacement document until 10 working days has elapsed since the issue date of the stock item on the online motor taxation facility / National Vehicle & Driver File (National Motor Taxation System).
