Our non-fiction collection covers a huge range of topics from psychology, biography, history, gardening, cookery, childcare, education, crafts, health & nutrition and more.
We stock a selection of Fiction and some Non Fiction in foreign languages. We try to purchase the bestselling authors whose texts have been translated as well as popular novels written and published in other languages. Our Healthy Ireland collection in each branch features titles on Healthy Eating, Mental Health, Alcohol, Tobacco, Physical Activity, Parenting, Books for Children and Young People and Positive Aging.
The Meath Healthy Reading Scheme is a collection of titles which have been recommended by HSE psychiatrists for self help with particular issues or disorders. Part of our Work Matters service is the provision of books in the areas of business and employment. All of our libraries stock a range of these titles aimed at those seeking employment or starting their own business.

Our store at Navan library is home to a large collection of journals which hold a wealth of information on the history, economy and social life in Ireland as well as on Irish writing and publishing.
The Local Studies department houses Ríocht na Midhe, the journal of the Meath Archaeological and Historical Society. An index to the journal is provided by the society on their website. Many other journals are available from the Local History Collection such as the Journal of the Royal Society of Antiquaries of Ireland.
You can also access JSTOR’s Ireland Collection on the Public Internet computers in all of our libraries.
