World Refugee Week 2024 - Events 19th June

Meath Local Authority Integration Team was out again today to join the ongoing events to mark the World Refugee Week at the National Ecology Centre Sonairte in Laytown, and at St Mary's Church in Navan.

 

To kickstart the day Janette and Reuben danced with the local community in Laytown at the National Ecology Centre Sonairte. 

The Diverse Community Showcase event organised by Meath partnership kept everyone on their feet, Damien Doherty (former River Dance) dazzled all with his magical feet. Irina a Mood Motivator had everyone on their feet learning dance moves and fun games from her native Ukraine. 

The Audience were treated to a very engaging drumming workshop to end the event. In the afternoon, the team attended the Street Party on the grounds of St Mary’s church in Navan. 

The street party was organised by Cultúr, guests were served food from different nationalities while listening to live music.
