The much anticipated Ballivor Library will open its doors to the public on Tuesday July 23rd

The fabulous new library in the restored St, Kinneth’s Church will offer books for children, teens and adults, free access to WiFi and PCs and a print copy & scan service.  There is a dedicated area for young children and some study spaces.   The flexible shelving units will allow the library service to deliver a wide variety of events and activities for children and adults.

Public library membership is completely free of charge and members can use their library card in any public library in Ireland.  Members will also have access to a full suite of eServices including BorrowBox and online newspapers.

Maedhbh Rogan, Meath County Librarian added “The library will open 4 days a week, with one late night and a half day Saturday opening.  We hope that Ballivor Library will be a vibrant, accessible and user-friendly space, open to everyone whatever their age, education or nationality”.

Minister Heather Humphreys visited St Kinneth's to officially open the building on May 24, 2023.

The refurbishment project, funded under the Town and Village Renewal Scheme, turned a heritage building, once an old church, into a public library. The refurbishment project included the construction of a new accessible toilet and the installation of a new insulated floor slab, as well as restoration works to the stained glass windows, roofs, ceilings, stairs, and woodwork.
