Update of the ongoing construction works, which commenced at the Junction of Metges Road and Kentstown Road, Navan, on 17th February 2020.
These works are currently expected to be completed by Q3 2020.
The works involve the installation of a 3.5m depth large sewer, an array of service crossings, including additional foul sewer mains, watermains, and telecommunications, as well as an upgrade to the existing junction.
See images below of phases, showing approximate dates and pedestrian/vehicle manoeuvres for the particular works location.
There will be vehicle, cyclist and pedestrian restrictions in the area for the duration of the works.
These works will provide a long term benefit to the movement of pedestrians, cyclists and other traffic through the junction.
The design requires a full upgrade of the existing junction to facilitate the new distributor road (Local Distributor Road 6) including:
- Upgrade of drainage gullies
- Installation of new public lighting
- Installation of new traffic signals to modern standards
- Service crossings for ENET, Eir, Virgin Media, ESB
- Connection of sewer for the new development
- New footways and pedestrian crossings
- Surfacing of the junction
We will endeavour to ensure the works will be carried out with minimal disturbance.
