Chairperson of Trim Municipal District, Cllr. Joe Fox warmly welcomed the guests in attendance and those watching remotely to the Trim Municipal District awards ceremony. Cllr. Fox commended the fantastic work and achievements of the voluntary groups over the last year and beyond, noting that it is impossible to quantify the value of the work carried out by the volunteers. He commended their commitment and noted that the Trim district is a credit to all involved and he is proud of the Trim district.
Director of Services Mr Des Foley commented that he was delighted to see the return of the Pride of Place initiative this year and thanked all of the volunteers on behalf of Meath County Council for the work that is carried out in the Trim District. He noted that the initiative is a real partnership between the community and Meath County Council to promote community activity and development. He also acknowledged the challenging times and noted that now more than ever there is a real awareness of the importance of outdoor spaces and amenities and thanked the volunteers for their commitment in developing and maintaining these spaces.
