Chairperson of Ashbourne Municipal District, Cllr Suzanne Jamal warmly welcomed the guests in attendance and those watching remotely who represented the 26 applicant groups who took part from Ashbourne Municipal District. Cllr Jamal acknowledged the challenging times and congratulated all the participating groups on their achievements which demonstrated the real pride the people of Ashbourne Municipal District have in their locality.
Director of Services Ms Fiona Lawless commented that she was delighted to see the Pride of Place initiative could proceed this year and thanked the groups on behalf of Meath County Council for their commitment and for the work that is carried out by the volunteers in the Ashbourne District. She acknowledged the importance of their work for the people of Ashbourne and commended their commitment, noting that the District is a credit to all involved.
