As part of the Navan Town Scheme (Navan 2030) Project works currently underway, upgrade works are scheduled to commence in Preston Place laneway in Navan on the week beginning Monday, 14 April 2025. These works necessitate a temporary ‘out of business hours’ restriction on the existing pedestrian route, from its junction with Trimgate Street (adjacent to McDonalds) to the stepped/ramped access to Kennedy Plaza car park.
The works shall entail site clearance of existing paving, surface water drainage upgrade works and the installation of utility ducting. This initial phase of site clearance and underground ducting works shall be carried out Monday-Friday, commencing on the 14th of April at 18:00hrs for an 8-hour period each night, and shall be for a period of approximately five (5) weeks. In order to facilitate the works, pedestrian access through the laneway (‘end to end’) will be closed during this initial ‘site clearance and groundworks’ phase. Pedestrians shall be required to divert around the works, and all diversion routes shall be clearly signposted. Access for business/property owners shall be maintained during the works.
The second phase of the works will involve installation of the new paving, which shall commence after all ‘site clearance and groundworks’ have been completed and shall be carried out during normal site working hours. Access through Preston Place laneway for pedestrians (‘end to end’), and to all businesses along the laneway, shall be maintained at all times during this second phase of the works.
