On Wednesday 1st May 2024 Meath County Council hosted a Civic Recognition event for each Municipal District in Buvinda House, Navan.
The event honours and recognises the achievements of individuals and groups across County Meath. Recipients were nominated by the elected members in Ashbourne, Kells, Laytown/Bettystown, Navan, Ratoath and Trim Municipal Districts.
Speaking at the event Cathaoirleach Cllr. Tommy Reilly said, "My fellow Councillors and I are delighted to host an event like this to honour and recognise individuals, groups and clubs who have had significant achievements in the past year. This event offers the elected members the opportunity to nominate a volunteer, committee or club who they believe went above and beyond in their efforts for their local communities. Nights like these make it worthwhile to represent you, the people of Meath who take great pride in all your achievements."
Chief Executive Kieran Kehoe paid tribute to all the winners and thanked each of them for their invaluable contributions to their local communities, “There are several groups here this evening who are working diligently to ensure our communities are the best that they can be. We thank you for your hard work and please be assured of the council’s ongoing commitment to assist you where we can. Each of you here today has represented your community in some capacity and we wholeheartedly congratulate you on your achievements.”
