Meath County Council Elected Members adopt the Council Corporate Plan
At the November Council Meeting held on Monday, November 4, the Meath County Council Corporate Plan 2024 – 2029 was adopted by the elected members.
The corporate plan serves as the council’s strategic framework for action over the duration of the current council from 2024 to 2029.
Meath County Council aims to ‘Make Meath Even Better’. The plan sets out seven high-level key strategic objectives, as well as the vision, mission statement and core values from now until 2029.
Introducing the Corporate Plan at the Council meeting, Chief Executive Kieran Kehoe said, “This corporate plan is the overarching strategy for the organisation and will guide the development of the annual service delivery plans. It will serve as our roadmap to deliver strategic objectives and ensure that the needs of all Meath citizens, communities, and stakeholders are met.”
Mr. Kehoe added, “We recognise the need to continue to be inclusive and adaptable and strive for continuous improvement to meet the changing needs of our residents and the wider social, economic and environmental landscape.”
Welcoming the Corporate Plan, Cathaoirleach Cllr. Sharon Tolan said, “This plan was prepared on an inclusive basis through consultation with internal stakeholders, including elected members, staff and various committees, along with external stakeholders. The views of the public were intrinsic in developing this corporate plan, which is innovative, ambitious, and sustainable and supports the needs of Meath as the best place to live, work, do business in, and visit.”
The overarching strategic objectives for the next five years are Public Service Delivery, Sustainability, Economic Development, Housing Delivery, Climate Action, Diversity and Integration, Democratic Mandate, and Age-Friendly Shared Service. Key actions have been identified to ensure the objectives are achieved, with the aim of improving the lives and well-being of Meath residents, providing the best quality experience for visitors and supporting economic development in our county.
