Meath County Council Arts Office is thrilled to announce a new visual arts-based programme of talks entitled: COMHRÁ.
Comhrá will be hosted in a relaxed atmosphere at Toradh Gallery during which audience members will be invited to engage in conversation with artists over tea, coffee and croissants.
The first event in the 2019 Comhrá series will feature current exhibiting artist Dermot McNevin in conversation with gallery owner and artist Valerie Walshe.
Dermot Mc Nevin’s exhibition the Fragility of Culture based on themes of colonialism and cultural casualty, will form the backdrop and basis for this informal artists talk. Valerie Walshe, independent curator and director of the Blackbird Gallery in Kilkenny will lead the discussion, touching on the artist’s motivation, methods and madness!
Audience participation will be welcome and encouraged in what promises to be an interesting and interactive arts discussion.
Comhrá: The Fragility of Culture is scheduled to take place on Saturday 23rd March from 10am to 11.30am. All are welcome to attend.
This is a free event but registration is required. Please register your attendance on artsoffice@meathcoco.ie or by phoning the arts office on 0469097414. Event is subject to participant numbers.
