MAJOR UPGRADE ANNOUNCED FOR AURA LESIURE CENTRE NAVAN
Aura and Meath County Council have announced a major joint investment in the Aura leisure centre which will involve a major upgrade to the gym with state of the art equipment, refurbished changing rooms and swimming pool.
This comes following an international tender process for the leisure centre management contract, which has been awarded to the Aura Holohan Group by Meath County Council. Aura has been in partnership with Meath County Council for over 20 years.
Jackie Maguire, Chief Executive Meath County Council said “The Council is committed to on-going investment in the Navan Leisure Centre. The Council and Aura are committed to further substantial upgrades that will result in a total €1 million investment. The Centre plays a key role in improving the quality of life for people and children living in the local communities”.
Aura, in consultation with Meath County Council has also devised a strategy to reduce energy consumption in the Centre and help reach Government targets by the end of 2020 through investment and system upgrades. This will not only reduce the carbon footprint but enhance comfort levels throughout the building and ensure future sustainability.
Aura wants to hear from its members and the general public through a consultation process to get feedback and ideas on how they can make the centre a better place for their customers. The survey can be found on the Aura website at www.auraleisure.ie.
