Leaf Mould is formed from decaying leaves and produces an invaluable soil conditioner.

Eleven community groups across three towns are taking part in the Leaf Mould Pilot Project with Master Composter Craig Benton.

Forty five leaf mould cages will be managed by the volunteers, solving the fallen leaf problem and producing quality compost for their landscaping projects.

Meath County Council plans to roll this scheme out widely to all interested groups in the coming years.
