River Boyne Boardwalk Refurbishment
Notice of proposed project pursuant to Regulation 42(13) of the European Union (Birds and Natural Habitats) Regulations 2011 (S.I. No. 477 of 2011) - Re-furbishment of Boyne Greenway Boardwalk, Over-flow Spillway Pipes and Re-pointing of Bridge over Boyne Canal NIS Public Consultation located on and adjacent to the L16014 in Oldbridge, County Meath.
The Natura Impact Statement (NIS) will be available to view online at http://consult.meath.ie, and Meath County Council, Buvinda House, Dublin Road, Navan, Co. Meath C15 Y291 during public opening hours.
The NIS may also be purchased at a fee not exceeding the reasonable cost of such making available. Requests to purchase hard copies may be made to the above email and postal addresses.
A person may make submissions or observations within 30 days from the date of the notice. The public may make submissions or observations in writing to Meath County Council via post / by email to transport@meathcoco.ie or online at http://consult.meath.ie concerning the proposed project (within 30 days from the date of this notice) to Meath County Council. Closing date for submissions / observations is 02 October 2024.
N2 Grange to Clontail Scheme
Meath County Council is working in partnership with WS Atkins consultant Engineers and Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII) on an upgrade of a 4.8km section of the N52 between the townlands of Grange and Clontail in County Meath.
In August 2022 Meath County Council made an application to An Bord Pleanala for confirmation of the Compulsory Purchase Order.
An Bord Pleanala considered the valid submissions and an online Oral Hearing was held on 9th April 2024. On the 5th June, An Bord Pleanala confirmed the Compulsory Purchase Order authorising the compulsory acquisition of lands which became operative on the 7th August 2024.

Work on this project commenced in Aug 2021 and the main construction contract continued to progress in 2023 with the road re-opening to vehicular traffic and only minor accommodation works to be completed in 2024 .
M3 Transportation Study – Dunboyne & Environs
Towards the end of 2016, Meath County Council commissioned Consultants to complete a transport study for the Dunboyne area. The transport study looks at current and future issues on the transport network and represents an opportunity for a coordinated approach to planning for improvements and upgrades in this area. The study was completed in 2018 and can be accessed below.
