The new ACORN tablet lending service from Meath County Council Library Service hopes to help bridge the digital divide by providing age-friendly, easy-to-use technology.
The ACORN tablet is Ireland’s first Age-Friendly smart tablet, Irish made and designed with the older person in mind. It is easy to use, easy to navigate and uncluttered, making online communication and access to the internet simple and rewarding for even the most inexperienced user.
ACORN tablets are now available for lending in Ashbourne, Kells, Navan, and Trim Libraries.
To borrow an ACORN tablet, you just need to be a member of the library. It is free to join the library and you can access WiFi in all our libraries at no cost too. The tablets come with free integrated mobile data also. The tablet can be borrowed for three months at a time, and each tablet comes with a set-up guide. On return, each tablet will be wiped clean of all personal data and prepared for lending again.
For more information on this lending scheme, contact Ashbourne, Kells, Navan, or Trim library. Opening and contact details can be found here.
