Team Climate Action
The implementation of climate action requires a whole-of-Council and a whole-of-society approach, this will be co-ordinated by the Climate Action Section.
Meath County Council’s Climate Action Section was established in 2022 and includes:
- Climate Change Co-ordinator;
- Climate Action Officer;
- Community Climate Action Officer; and
- Energy Efficiency Officer.
The role of this Section is to drive climate action within the Council, to deliver specific actions (including
the Community Climate Action Fund), to support and monitor the implementation of the actions, and to
co-ordinate the reporting and evaluation of the Plan following its approval by the Elected Members.
The Climate Action Section is supported by each action holding department and lead representatives across
Council departments.
The Climate Action Section is also the point of contact for engaging and informing citizens, communities, and businesses on climate action.
