The guides at Brú na Bóinne are looking at new ways of engaging with educational institutions as it is not possible to accept group bookings to visit the monuments of Newgrange and Knowth at present.  

The team at Brú na Bóinne has developed the following plan to help bring the monuments of Newgrange, Knowth and Dowth into schools.  They will post out a free DVD on the monuments (21 minutes long) to the school and also send Teacher’s notes and Worksheets for the students (Also available below for download)

When the class has watched the DVD and studied and completed the worksheets, we are asking teachers to email Brunaboinne@opw.ie to arrange for a free video chat and question and answer session with one of the guides using the Starleaf App.

The Built Heritage Investment Scheme 2025 (BHIS) is for the repair and conservation of structures that are protected under the Planning and Development Acts.

This 2025 grant has closed for applications.

How to dispose of bulky household waste including mattresses, carpet or lino, house and garden furniture and large plastic toys

This grant provides financial assistance to Meath based Graveyard and Burial Ground Committees who work voluntarily to enhance and maintain their local graveyards and burial grounds.

The disposal of waste by uncontrolled burning is an offence. Controlled Burning of Green Waste permission expired on 31st December 2022.

Bus setdown areas are designated for the sole use of buses to set down to allow passengers to disembark the bus and are usually marked with a road marking and sign.
