Due to reduced water production at the Staleen Water Treatment Plant and depleted reservoirs levels in Carnes and Balloy reservoirs, Irish Water regrettably has to introduce temporary water rationing in the following areas:
Water Outage from 8pm to 6am daily until Sunday 11th March 2018
Areas affected - Duleek, Prioryland, Abbeylands, Balsaran, Garballagh, Downstown, Rossnaree, Lougher, Rathdrinagh, Knockharley, Balrath, Danestown, Ballymagarvey and surrounding areas
For the above and the areas listed below, rationing will be on a rolling basis for the next few days, at least, as the situation is monitored and reviewed, to compensate for the reduced supply coming in to East Meath from the Staleen WTP.
Areas affected - Ardcath, Clonalvy, Kentstown, Danestown, Boolies, Riverstown, Cushinstown and surrounding areas
Water levels need to refill in reservoirs and we are asking customers across East Meath supplied by the Staleen Water Treatment Plant to conserve water to allow water levels to increase
Irish Water and Meath County Council are at this time reconfiguring the existing water supply network in an effort to maintain and restore water supply to customers impacted by the outage.
Irish Water working in partnership with Meath County Council thanks customers for their patience while we work to resolve all issues due to the extremely cold weather conditions and would like to apologise to customers for any inconvenience this outage is causing. We wish to reassure customers that work is ongoing to restore a public water supply to all customers.
Once further information is available we will issue another update. Updates will also be posted to the supply and service section of Irish Water’s website at www.water.ie/water-supply/supply-and-service-update/ .
