Bank Holiday Weekend Community Response Hubs
With areas of Meath still without power and water in the aftermath of Storm Éowyn, Meath County Council continue to run a number of Community Hubs to assist those in difficulty over the bank holiday weekend.
These hubs will assist people with basic needs such as water, hot food, phone charging, broadband access, showers etc.
Community Response Hubs Locations:

• Kilian's Lodge Hotel - A82 C9R6 - During business hours

• St Brigids GFC - A82 HD36 - 9am - 9pm

If anyone needs assistance over the Bank Holiday Weekend, please call our Emergency Line on 1800 445 335. Our Customer Care Line 046 909 7000 will be open until 5pm this evening (Friday 31/01/25) and the Emergency Line will handle any calls after this.
Broadband Connection Points
Broadband connection points are available at the following locations across the county to connect family and communities in the aftermath of Storm Éowyn.
Strategic Connection Points (SCPs) sites are publicly accessible Broadband Connection Point sites connected with high-speed broadband service.

In addition, the Meath County Library network are offering their services for those in need of power, water, etc. where possible.

CAO Deadline - Saturday, 1st February
The closing date for initial registrations for students is Saturday, 1st February at 17:00. Applications opened on 5th November 2024 for the 2025/26 academic year.
Any student having connectivity issues is advised to seek assistance from their school or avail of internet access in their nearest public library, further education college or higher education provider.
There is no need to panic - there are a number of options available to students. If a student can submit their registration, their choices can be amended in advance of the July deadline for course selection.
Exceptional application facility will be made available from 1st February at 5pm until 6th February at 5pm for applicants who are currently experiencing power and internet outages due to Storm Éowyn.
For any student unable submit an application by the 1st February deadline, another opportunity is available. The late application facility opens online on 5th March at 12:00 and closes on 1st May 2025 at 17:00.

HSE Advise on Medical Devices
In situations where service users have no electricity at home and are reliant on electronically powered medical devices, they should immediately consider the following advice:
Check for updates: Contact ESB Networks for reconnection updates at 1800 372 757 and check outage information on www.PowerCheck.ie.
Seek an alternative location to recharge or power a device. If possible, move to a place with electricity, such as a relative’s or friend’s home or visit a community hub. https://www.gov.ie/en/news/19c88-storm-response/.
Seek an alternative means to power the device: This may involve a backup battery or a Battery Powerpack.
If you are concerned, please seek medical advice; If you are worried about the impact of the power outage on your therapy, contact your GP, GP out of hours or an emergency department.
Act immediately in an emergency: If the situation becomes critical, contact emergency services without delay.
