Temporary Closure of Road M1 from Junction 8 to Junction 7 (Southbound)
Meath County Council has made an order to close the M1, from Junction 8 to Junction 7 (Southbound), at night time for a period of one week within the range of dates referred to below to facilitate CRG (Dundalk) to carry out road re-surfacing works.
The total duration of the roadworks is expected to be one week, during which time, the motorway mainline, interchange slip roads, roundabouts and side roads will be closed. It is the intention of CRG (Dundalk) to minimise the number of, and duration of, road closures within the one week period.
Duration
Southbound between Junction 8 and Junction 7: For one week within the period from Monday, 29th June, 2020 to Saturday, 22nd August, 2020.
Diversion will be in place between the hours of 7:30p.m. to 6:30a.m.
Alternative Route
Travelling Southbound - Diversion using the R132 (old N1)
Route 1 – Un-tolled: Use Exit 10, turn onto N51 for Drogheda, then through Drogheda on the R132 to Junction 7 and re-enter M1 southbound.
Route 2 – Tolled: Use Exit 9, turn onto L1601 for Drogheda, then turn right onto R132 through Drogheda to Junction 7 and re-enter M1 southbound.
Diversion signs will be in place.
