Temporary Closure of M1 Motorway from Junction 8 to Junction 7 (Southbound)
Meath County Council has made an order to close the M1 Motorway from Junction 8 to Junction 7 (Southbound), at night time for a period of one week, within the range of dates referred to below. Closure is to facilitate CRG (Dundalk) carrying out road re-surfacing works.
The total duration of the roadworks is expected to be one week, during which time the motorway mainline, interchange slip roads, roundabouts and side roads will be closed. It is the intention of CRG (Dundalk) to minimise the number of, and duration of, road closures within the one week period.
Details
- Closure for one week from within the period Monday, 9th September to Saturday, 16th November 2019.
- Diversion will be in place between the hours of 7.30 pm and 06.30 am during the closure.
Alternative Routes
Travelling Southbound Diversion using the R132 (old N1)
Route 1: Un-tolled
- Using Exit 10, turn onto N51 for Drogheda
- Travel through Drogheda on the R132 to Junction 7
- Re-enter M1 Southbound
Route 2: Tolled:
- Use Exit 9, turn onto L1601 for Drogheda
- Turn right onto R132 and travel through Drogheda to Junction 7
- Re-enter M1 Southbound
