Proposed Temporary Closure of M1 from Junction 7 to Junction 10 (Northbound) and Junction 10 to Junction 7 (Southbound) and off Ramps at M1 Junction 10 and off Ramps at M1 Junction 7, Co Meath
Meath County Council hereby gives notice of its intention to close sections of M1 from Junction 7 to Junction 10 Northbound and Junction 10 to Junction 7 Southbound at night-time on various dates over a four-week period to facilitate Celtic Roads Group (Dundalk) DAC to facilitate Emergency and Planned works.
The proposed closures and diversion routes will be as follows:

Mainline diversion using the following national and regional roads; R132 (old N1), N51.
Diversions will be in place, at night time only, between 8.30pm - 6.30am.
2. Southbound within sections of M1 between Junction 10 to Junction 7 (to facilitate Emergency works, for a period not exceeding 2 nights) within the period 12 May 2025 to 20 June 2025.

Diversions will be in place, at night time only, between 7.30pm -5.30am.
3. Northbound section of M1 between Junction 7 to Junction 10 (to facilitate Planned Works, for 3 nights) within the period 12 May 2025 to 20 June 2025.
Mainline diversion using the following national and regional roads; R132 (old N1), N51.
Diversions will be in place, at night time only, between 8.30pm - 6.30am.
4. Southbound section of M1 between Junction 10 to Junction 7 (to facilitate Planned works for 3 nights) within the period 12 May 2025 to 20 June 2025.
Mainline diversion using the following national and regional roads; N51, R132 (old N1).
Diversions will be in place, at night time only, between 7.30pm - 5.30am.
The total duration of the roadworks is expected to be four weeks, during which time the motorway mainline, interchange slip roads, roundabouts and side roads may be closed. It is the intention of Celtic Roads Group (Dundalk) DAC to minimise the number of and duration of road closures within the above period.
Contingency has been included in the four-week period to allow for disruption to works due to weather conditions etc. and every effort will be made to complete works in less than four weeks.
The closures will affect both carriageways at different periods. For the emergency works, both carriageways will be closed together and for planned works only one carriageway will be closed at any given time. Road closures will generally be between two junctions only.
Diversion signs will be in place.
Submissions and observations to the proposed temporary road closures should be made in writing to the Administrative Officer, Transportation Department, Meath County Council, Buvinda House, Dublin Road, Navan, Co Meath C15 Y291, or by email to transport@meathcoco.ie on or before Tuesday, 22 April 2025.
