Horse racing has taken place at Navan's “Royal County” Proudstown site since the 1920's. Set in 181 acres, the track is highly respected by owners and trainers who recognise that it's stiff uphill finish is a true test of their horses fitness and stamina.
Navan Racecourse is nestled in a small dip approximately two miles from Navan town. Horse racing has taken place at Navan Racecourse since 1920. The course of one mile and four furlongs offers a unique mix of national hunt and flat racing. Over the years many famous national hunt horses have raced and won at Navan, the most notable of all being the famous Arkle. Navan Racecourse has a fully licensed bar and restaurant. Full corporate client entertainment facilities are also available.
