Extension of Temporary Closure of Shambo Rd L-40081, Co Meath

Meath County Council has made an order for an extension to the temporary closure of the Shambo Retaine Bellewstown Road, Navan, L-40081 at Shambo, from its junction with L-4008-10 Retaine to its junction with L-4007-1 Commons Road Shambo and to its junction with R-161 Trim Road.

These road closures are required to facilitate the installation of new infrastructure on behalf of Uisce Éireann.

Extension of Temporary Closure of Shambo Rd L-40081, Co Meath 

Meath County Council has made an order for an extension to the temporary closure of the Shambo Retaine Bellewstown Road, Navan, L-40081 at Shambo, from its junction with L-4008-10 Retaine to its junction with L-4007-1 Commons Road Shambo and to its junction with R-161 Trim Road.

The closures were due to be completed at 6pm, Friday 31 January 2025 and will now be extended to 6pm, Friday 14 February 2025.

These road closures are required to facilitate the installation of new infrastructure on behalf of Uisce Éireann.

Alternative Routes

1st closure section Retaine

South Bound At L-40081 Shambo Junction take L-4007 south bound to Robinstown Village to L-4008, turn right onto L-4008 and continue to L-40081 junction at Retaine.

East Bound At L-40081 Retaine Junction take L-4007 east bound to Robinstown Village to L-4007, turn left onto L-4007 and continue to L-40081 junction at Shambo. 

2nd closure section Bellewstown

Southbound Trim Rd - At R-161 Trim Rd junction head south to Connells Cross, turn right onto L-4008 to Robinstown Village, turn right onto L-4007 and continue to L-40081 Shambo junction.

Southbound Shambo – At L-4007 Shambo Rd junction head South to Robinstown Village, turn left onto L-4008 continue to R-161 Trim Rd junction, turn left onto R-161 Trim Rd and continue to L-40081 junction at Bellewstown.

Diversion and information signage will be in place. Access for residents and property holders will be facilitated throughout the closure period.
