Beaches

Meath County Council is responsible for the upkeep of Meath's two beaches in Laytown/Bettystown and Mornington. Details of their management of these beaches can be found here.

Beach Warden

Meath County Council appoint a Beach Warden on a seasonal basis to carry out functions associated with the Councils management responsibilities for the Beach.

Meath County Council appoint beach Lifeguards at Bettystown Beach throughout the summer bathing season and generally at weekends in June and during normal daytime hours in July /August .

Parking at Bettystown Beach

There is no parking on the beach at Bettystown or Laytown.  There are a small number of Age Friendly and Blue Badge (Disabled) spaces on the beach at Bettystown, which are co-ordinated by the Beach Wardens.  This will be strictly monitored to ensure these spaces are available for those who need them most and fines will issue for noncompliance.

 

Parking is available at the new Meath County Council Car Park, on the Coast Road beside the Education Campus. It's a short walk to the beach through Brookside Lane.  Exit the car park, turn left towards Bettystown, the laneway is on the right hand side.

 

Parking is available also at Funtasia, Bettystown, at a cost of €4 per vehicle per day.
