Summer Events:


Peter Rabbit Workshop for ages 3-6
Tuesday 3rd  of July 3 – 4 p.m.
10 places. Listen to some classic Peter Rabbit tales, do some planting and build your own fence to keep Peter away from the vegetables.  This is a fun hands-on activity that combines problem solving and literacy for younger ones.

STEAM Box Activity Hour
Tuesday 10th of July 11.30a.m.  – 12.30p.m.
Age 3 – 6 years
Age 7+ years 

This is a free play session designed to bring out the creative side in your child. Our STEAM boxes are packed with games designed to get your child thinking and making. Try out Magtastix, Tangram Puzzles, 3D Jigsaws, or build with Lego & other blocks.  There’s even Scrabble 360 and good old fashioned playing cards.  It should prove to be a fun filled hour for all.
3-6 year olds must be accompanied by an adult.

Thomas the Tank Engine for ages 3-6
Thursday 12th of July 11.30a.m.  – 12.30p.m.
12 places. Thomas is always popular with preschoolers and in this workshop the children get a chance to hear some well loved stories from the collection & build with wooden trainsets.

Lego World Cup Workshop for ages 7+
Wednesday 18th of July 11.30a.m – 12.30p.m.
12 places. Recreate a World Cup team flag in Lego. And work with a team to create your own Lego stadium. Then take each other on in the World Cup Straw Championship.

Puppet Show
Little Red Riding Hood
Friday, 20th of July 3 – 4 p.m. (40 places)
Red Riding Hood is Moon & Sixpence's cheeky version of the classic fairy-tale characters featuring a talking dustbin encouraging children to pick up litter. This string puppet production includes a moral in the tale, showing the importance of patience and friendship. The show, lasting fifty minutes, is performed live with music and sound effects and draws plenty of audience participation, as much from adults as from children!

Minecraft Workshop
Monday 23rd of July 3 – 4 p.m. 
Learn lots of Minecraft tips and tricks, explore Conor’s Minecraft World, play Minecraft on a playstation and create minecraft tools or characters with Lego.

Introduction to Coding with Scratch
Thursday, 26th of July. 2.30 – 3.30 p.m.
Ages7+
This is an introduction to coding, using
the Scratch app. The children will learn how Scratch
works by completing different projects will get a
worksheet to practice some more at home.

Music Shaker Arts & Crafts for ages 3-6
Tuesday 31st of July 2.30 -3.30
Make and decorate your own music shaker.  All children booking for this event must be accompanied by an adult.

Summer Stars Treasure Hunt
Every day in July and August
Find the Summer Stars characters that are hidden around the library and claim your prize from the treasure chest at the desk.

Eye Spy
Test your powers of observation with this fun game.

World Cup Quiz
Answer 20 questions about the World Cup. All correct entries will be put in to a prize draw at the end of July.

Peter Rabbit Quiz
Answer 4 questions about everyobody's favourite rabbit and hand them in at the desk. There will be a prize draw at the end of the month for all correct entries.

Adult Book Club
Navan Active Retirement Association. First Tuesday of every month at 11am.
Thursday Adult Book Club
Weekly meeting every Thursday at 10.30am.

Knitting Circle
Tuesdays at 11am (except first Tuesday of each month)

Spanish (Intermediate) Conversation.
Tuesdays at 7pm. Intermediate level and above. All newcomers are welcome.

Adult Crafts Group.
Thursdays at 6.30pm. The group meets every week sharing ideas and skills.

Navan Creative Writers
Wednesdays at 11.30am. New members welcome to attend.

Children Event:
Parents and Toddlers Story time Group
Every Wednesday at 10.30am. Come along for stories, songs, games and colouring. Suitable for pre-school children.
