We have organised events to celebrate Science week with our local schools.

Work Matters Event:
'Social Media Marketing – Getting the competitive edge in promoting your business’
Thursday 15th November 7pm. With Social Media Consultant Maya Hanley. This is an ideal workshop to help promote your business, be it small or large. This is a free event but booking is required. Leave your name at the desk if you wish to attend.

Fit Steps: Dance for the over 50s
Wednesdays 2.30pm – 3.30pm
The dance class mixes the graceful steps of ballroom with the steps of Latin dance. The dance moves are simple, easy to learn and suitable for complete beginners. Contact Gwen on 0871354047 to book a place.

Parent & Baby Room
We have a relaxing parent & baby room, including a nappy changing unit, bottle warmer, parent magazines and a CD player for relaxing music.  Ask at the desk if you wish to use the room..

Parent & Toddler Group
This runs term time only. Tuesday & Thursday mornings between 10am – 12pm.
Bring your child along for games & activities. There is a charge of €2 per morning. On Tuesdays there is also a free stories and songs session with Mary our Librarian, which begins at 11.45am. Ask at the desk for details.

Stories and Songs for the under 6s
Every Tuesday 11.45am – 12.15pm
Come along for stories and songs with Mary. If Mary is unavailable we have stories and songs on DVD. No booking required.

Coderdojo Club – Looking for volunteers to help
Coderdojo is a global collaboration providing free and open learning to young people, especially in programming technology Next meeting
10th, 17th & 24th November. Ages 7—14 years. Book your place for each session via the Ashbourne Coderdojo facebook page. Like the page and leave a message that you wish to attend. All children need a laptop with the ‘Scratch' 2.0 offline editor' ’ programme downloaded from the MIT Scratch website. Parents must attend with their children.

Student Study
Please note that due to the demand for quiet study space, upstairs space is available for Leaving Cert. and College exam study, ask for details at the desk, due to one off events some of these quiet times may vary. Students are welcome to use the spaces at other times but have to bear in mind as a community library, other events may be running.
