Welcome to Boyne Valley Tourism


In the early 18th century, Jonathan Swift was rector here. Hester Johnson, his "Stella", came to live nearby. In tradition, their walks and a well, named for Stella, keeps their memory alive. Before Swift died, he devoted one third of his income to found St. Patrick's hospital.
