Local Area Plans

The Southern Environs of Drogheda and the East Meath Census town grouping of Laytown Bettystown, Mornington East which also includes Donacarney and Mornington are the two centres / group of centres in the Laytown-Bettystown Municipal District Area that have their own individual Local Area Plans in place.

The East Meath Local Area Plan was made in 2014 and a link to this Local Area Plans can be found below:

The Southern Environs of Drogheda Local Area Plan was made in 2009. A significant amendment to the Southern Environs of Drogheda Local Area Plan was made on March 2nd 2015 to ensure consistency with the land use zoning objectives and Order of Priority for the release of lands for each centre contained in the Meath County Development Plan 2013 – 2019, as varied.

2014 Version:

Written Statement and Detailed Objectives for Remaining Centres

Variation No. 2 to the Meath County Development Plan 2013-2019 was made on Monday 19th May, 2014. This Variation introduced a written statement, development objectives including land use zoning objectives for 34 no. centres / group of centres across the county. The Variation also introduced an Order of Priority which will manage the release of residential and employment lands for these centres / group of centres.

The individual Local Area Plans for each of these centres / groups of centres were revoked at the March 2nd 2015 meeting of Meath County Council.

A link to the written statement and land use zoning objectives map for each urban centre in the Laytown-Bettystown Municipal District now included under Volume V of the County Development Plan 2013-2019, as varied, is provided underneath.
