Vacant Sites Register

On January 1st 2017, Meath County Council established a Vacant Sites Register in accordance with the Urban Regeneration and Housing Act 2015.

The purpose of the Register is to identify vacant sites within the functional area of Meath on appropriately zoned lands which have been deemed suitable for housing or redevelopment but are lying dormant and undeveloped.

Sites entered on the Register will be subject to the Vacant Site Levy provisions introduced under the Act.

At present the Register is empty as the Council is preparing a variation to the County Development Plan and Town Development Plans to inform and enable the Planning Authority to identify and include specific sites on the Vacant Sites Register.
