Meath Local Sports Partnership and Sport Ireland have linked up with the Operation Transformation team to promote National Walk Day on Saturday 12th January - There are a number of walks happening across the county on the day. Participants are also welcome to join Parkrun on the day

Operation Transformation National Walk Day

 

Meath Local Sports Partnership and Sport Ireland have linked up with the Operation Transformation team to promote National Walk Day on Saturday 12th January.

 

Organisers welcome all ages and abilities along on the day and would like to see families getting involved. The event is ideal for beginners to come out and give it a go. Children must be accompanied by an adult. In the interest of safety and out of respect to other walkers, dogs are not allowed.

 

There are a number of walks happening across the county on the day – check out walks below for one that suits you:

 

  • Nobber: meet at Nobber amenity park/National School at 9.30am.
  • Kilmainhamwood: meet at Kilmainhamwood GAA at 9.30am.
  • Trim: meet in front of the castle at 10am.
  • Carnaross: meet at Carnaross Community Hall at 10am.
  • Duleek: meet at Duleek village green at 10am.
  • Ratoath: meet at Ratoath GAA at 10am.
  • Athboy: meet at Clann Na Gael GAA at 10am.
  • Castletown: meet at Castletown Pitch & Putt at 10am.
  • Fordstown: meet at Girley Hall at 10am.
  • Ashbourne: Meet at Ashbourne Garda Station at 10am.
  • Oldcastle/Ballinacree: meet at St. Brigid’s GFC Oldcastle at 11am (registration from 10am).

 

Participants are also welcome to join Parkrun on the day. Park run is a free 5km timed course which takes place every Saturday at 9.30am in the following locations in Meath:

Parkrun is suitable for walkers, joggers and runners of all ages! You will need to register for FREE at www.parkrun.ie before attending!
