Date Released: 25 May 2018

Meath County Council Water Service Department working on behalf of Irish Water would like to notify you of planned water infrastructure works due to commence in Bellewstown from Monday 28th May 2018 for approximately 28 weeks. The project is a €400,000 investment by Irish Water and will consist of a new water mains from Carnes reservoir to Wood View housing estate in order to improve the quality of drinking water to those living in Wood View. It is estimated that the new pipe will be installed and operational by January 2019. Córas Pipeline Services working on behalf of Irish Water will deliver this project.

The laying of the new water main will commence from Monday 28th May and will be undertaken under a temporary road closure along the L5617 Carnes Road and L56171 Ladymoore Road. Working hours initially will be 08:00 to 18:00 Monday to Friday. Local access will be maintained at all times including provision for traffic travelling to and from the local National School. A signed detour route will be in place for the duration of the temporary road closure. The road closure will be suspended from 29th June and 24th August for one week to facilitate the Bellewstown Races.

Should any Property Owners along the extent of the new water main wish to avail of a new water connection in the future, they should contact Irish Water directly. For further information on how to apply for a new connection, please visit Irish Water’s website on or call 1850 278 278.
