Extreme Caution Advised on Roads and Footpaths - Current indications are that frost is likely in the early hours of Wednesday 7th March

Large accumulations of snow along the road side are continuing to thaw and consequently there may be some localised areas of ponding or standing water.
 
The Council are monitoring the weather and current indications are that frost is likely in the early hours of Wednesday 7th March. If frost continues to be forecast the Council will be gritting priority 1 and 2 routes.
 
However the Council advises road users to exercise caution as even following treatment of these routes there still may a risk of ice forming due to melting snow. Extreme caution is also advised on untreated routes and footpaths.
