Traffic / Roads Update - NAVAN ROADWORKS UPDATE - THURSDAY 17TH AUGUST, 1PM

Date Released: 17 August 2017

NAVAN ROADWORKS UPDATE

THURSDAY 17TH AUGUST, 1PM

O’Growney Terrace:
Road surfacing works were completed yesterday.

Brews Hill:
Surfacing works are ongoing today between ALDI and the junction of Brews Hill and Railway Street, and will be completed this evening. Surfacing work will be taking place tomorrow on Brews Hill car parking spaces and will involve some traffic management but will be finished tomorrow evening.

Railway Street Roundabout:
These works include footpath works, traffic calming measures and enhanced pedestrian crossing facilities which will be especially beneficial for pupils attending the local schools in the vicinity.

Traffic signals were erected yesterday afternoon in order to facilitate the installation of the temporary traffic management equipment on site (barriers, cones, crossing points etc.).

It is intended that from this afternoon the traffic management on the Railway Street Roundabout will be manned with stop/go boards during the peak morning and evening hours. This will be more responsive to traffic demand at the junction and should reduce the delays and congestion that will inevitably be experienced during the construction period.

The temporary traffic management is in operation for the duration of the works and alternative diversion routes are sign posted.

Works will be ongoing until the end of October 2017, and whilst there will be delays and disruption, Meath County Council will minimise these as far as possible.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused and appreciate the patience of local people, businesses and the travelling public while works are ongoing.
