IPB Pride of Place Awards 2016 - Meath River Rescue and Carlanstown Kilbeg Community Development win awards at IPB Pride of Place Awards 2016

Date Released: 28 November 2016

It was a great night for Meath last Saturday at the IPB Pride of Place Awards 2016, in association with Co-Operation Ireland, as two groups scooped awards in their categories.  The awards were held in the Waterfront Hall in Belfast.  Congratulations to Meath River Rescue, winners of the Community Enterprise Initiative (Social) category, and to Carlanstown, represented by Carlanstown Kilbeg Community Development, who were runners up in the Population 300 – 1000 category.  The IPB Pride of Place competition, in association with Co-Operation Ireland, is a prestigious competition celebrating the voluntary work of communities all over the Island of Ireland.  Well done also to Meath Comhairle na nOg, who also ably represented the county in the competition this year.  They were unlucky not to pick up a prize for their “Talk to Me” project, focusing on mental health issues in young people.
