Check You Are Registered and Your Details Correct

Check if you are registered  on the current Register and whether your details are correct, at http://www.checktheregister.ie

 

If you are finding it difficult to find your details on the register

 

Here are possible reasons your details were not found:

1.  Your Address:

  • The house number was not entered where a house number applies.
  • There may be no Eircode for your dwelling in the Register of Electors particularly if you have a non-unique address.
  • The Address spelling maybe different in the Register of Electors to what you are entering e.g. Ballymain instead of Ballymaine.
  • A partial Address name search may be beneficial e.g. Bally
  • Search is not case sensitive.

If still unable to see your details, please contact us.

2.  Your Name:

  • Have you entered your First Name and Surname?
  • Did you apply to be registered as Joe/Joseph, Marie/Maria, Brown/Browne, Mahony/Mahoney?
  • Does your surname start with O’, Mac or Mc e.g. O’Kelly or O Kelly? McCarthy or Mc Carthy?
  • Search is not case sensitive.

3.  You applied for Supplement to Register of Electors, but your details are not displaying:

You have applied to be on Supplement to the Register of Electors. Your details may not yet be showing. If you wish to check that you have been added to Supplement to the Register of Electors, please contact us.

 

4.  You are not on the Register of Electors:

If you are eligible you can apply for inclusion in Supplement to the Register of Electors by completing application form RFA2. Return the form to us.

5.  If your address has changed but this change is not reflected on Register:

If you are on the Register of Electors but have moved address from one Dáil constituency or local electoral area to another, you can apply for inclusion in Supplement to the Register by completing an application form RFA3.  Return the form to us
